If you have not hired a forestry mulching or land clearing company before, you probably have some questions about the process, the equipment, and what to expect. We have put together answers to the questions we hear most often from landowners across southeast Ohio.
We offer forestry mulching, land clearing, fence line clearing, lot clearing, brush hogging, and trail cutting. All of our services are built around land clearing and vegetation management using professional-grade equipment. You can find detailed information on each service on our Services page.
We are based in Cambridge, Ohio and serve landowners within approximately a 60–80 mile radius of Cambridge. That covers a large portion of southeast Ohio, including communities across Guernsey, Muskingum, Morgan, Noble, and surrounding counties, as well as reaching toward Marietta and the outer Columbus area. If you are not sure whether we can reach your property, call us — it only takes a minute to check.
Yes. We provide free estimates on all projects. We come to your property, take a look at the site, and give you a clear picture of what the job involves and what it will cost. There is no obligation.
Our primary machine is a skid steer fitted with a professional-grade forestry mulcher attachment. This setup allows us to clear trees, brush, and undergrowth in a single efficient pass, grinding material on site into mulch. For brush hogging work, we use a rotary cutter.
Our minimum job value is $1,500. This reflects the cost of equipment operation, travel, and the time involved in any project. We will let you know during the estimate whether a particular job meets that threshold.
Ben Kirkman, the owner and operator, has been running equipment since he was 14 years old. He started Southeast Ohio Forestry Mulching to bring that level of hands-on experience directly to landowners in this region.
Scheduling depends on current project load and time of year. The best approach is to reach out as early as possible, especially for larger jobs or during busy spring and fall clearing seasons. Call us to check availability.
Yes, you are welcome to be on the property. As long as you stay at a safe distance from the equipment operation, there is no issue. For most jobs, we can also work independently once the project scope is clearly established.
When we use the forestry mulcher, material is ground on site and left as natural mulch. There are no brush piles, no burning, and nothing to haul away. The ground surface is left clear and mulched. For brush hogging, cut material is left on the ground to break down naturally.
